Michael Wright

Director of Public Affairs at Home Instead Ireland.

During 12 years of activity in the older persons space, Michael has been a regular commentator on a range of critical issues on ageing in Ireland and beyond, advocating positive and sustainable solutions which are aimed at enhancing the quality and standard of care for those who need it.

Of particular interest to Michael is the introduction of the long-anticipated Statutory Home Care Scheme, the urgent need for regulation in the Irish home care market, and improved dementia care services for the growing numbers of people living with dementia in Ireland.

Based in East Limerick, Michael led the Home Instead Tipperary team for 10 years, providing people in local communities with access to high quality care in their own homes. More recently, Michael joined Home Instead’s National Office, where, in his capacity as Director of Public Affairs, he plays an active role in bringing ageing and care-related issues to the attention of Government and other Key Stakeholders in the health care ecosystem. He also serves on the board of Cameo, a Tipperary-based charity which works for the benefit of people living with dementia and their families who care for them.
